So vast, it is divided into five beaches rated in Victoria's top 5. Beaches are patrolled in summer and swimming is between flags, or enjoy the tranquil beaches of the inlet, where Doyles Beach is a favourite for the young.

Enjoy surf, inlet and river fishing in Venus Bay. Surf fishing is popular and best in the winter months. Catches include salmon, gummy shark, mullet and tailor. River fishing on the Tarwin is a favourite for families. Fish from the many specially built platforms and boardwalks. Catches here include mullet, black bream, perch and silver trevally. The sheltered waters of Anderson's Inlet is a haven for anglers. Catches here include bass, flathead, salmon, whiting, mullet, trevally and garfish. Venus Bay Anglers Club at Fisherman's Jetty has regular fishing competitions for all ages.

Cape Liptrap Coastal Park stretches from Venus Bay's Point Smythe to Waratah Bay and consists of numerous walking tracks. A rich diversity of native plants and animals make this a nature lovers paradise. Our estuarine wetlands are home to over 200 species of bird. Very common to come across echidnas, kangaroos, possums, wombats, and koalas. The Point Smythe Walk is a circular track through thick mosaic coast dune shrub and banksia wood land (2hrs). The Anderson's Inlet walk follows the inlet through intertidal mudflats, mangrove shrubland and coastal banksia woodland (40 mins each way).
